We're going to give the results from the Tour of the Battenkill a few days to calm down, as we've heard that there might be some changes as everything gets sorted out.
So, they should be added a bit later this week. In the meantime, spend some time fixing the cracks in your frame and/or bones.
The server-crushing power of the crossresults.com race predictor has come to road-results.com, and even better, it's free over here because we only get about 20% of the traffic as crossresults.com! So there's at least a chance we can open it to the general public and not be rewarded with a server that's on fire.
So next time a break goes up the road, just cross-reference its riders with the race predictor, and you'll know whether you should chase, or scoff*.
*: browsing the race predictor on your iphone while in the peloton may be hazardous to your health. Scoffing at breakaway attempts recommended for experienced cyclists only.
Uh...well...maybe once we finish moving parts from our cross bikes and lose all this upper body weight we gained nordic skiing, we'll get on that.
BUT FOR REALS. We did a lot of cool stuff last season over on crossresults.com, and we'll hope to have some of those features added once we wakeup the coding monkeys.
In the meantime, we'll keep up with our northeast-focused results until we build our team of national results gatherers.
So throw on some embrocation, start hitting the long intervals and get ready to ignore real-life responsibilities every weekend until the middle of September!
With the Saco and Portsmouth crits this past weekend, road racing in New England is rapidly coming to an end. Pretty much all that's left is the Boston Mayor's Cup on the 26th.
I know, I'm sad too. But the result obsession is FAR FROM OVER! Because our mother site, crossresults.com is still there, waiting for you to go to it and click on things. Plus it gets updated more and has less bugs.
Anyway, we here at the ResultsBoy family feel like this New England beta test of road-results.com was quite successful. Perhaps next year we'll expand. Stay tuned for more info, and we'll be yelling at you during cross season.
You probably sit at home most Tuesday nights thinking "Man, I'd love to do a Pro/1/2/3 crit in a beautiful, historic New England downtown."
Well, person who has alarmingly specific thoughts on Tuesday nights, now is your chance! Tuesday, June 30th is the 27th Annual Exeter Crit. It's the Tuesday before the big daddy of 'em all, Fitchburg.
It's also about ONE HOUR from Boston, so you so-called "bicycle racers" down there had better come up for it. Last year had a pretty star-studded field, and with Fitchburg being an NRC event this year, you can bet that a lot of those guys will be returning.
Plus there will probablydefinitely be a road-results.com prime. Winner gets a higher ranking...and maybe some money.
Added a "Show Categories" option to the results pages, showing each rider's category and place relative to that category. Potentially useful for the Cat 2's out there who are getting their upgrade points stolen by Cat 1's, and anyone else who has to regularly race against a higher cat than their own.
Of course the internet has a limit on its magic, so we don't have categories for everyone. If we're missing yours (probably because of your ambiguous name spellings), use the email to give us your license number and then we'll know... forever.
As part of doing the NEBRA rankings we had to start chasing racer categories around the interweb. A side benefit of this is that now we know when you upgrade (or downgrade, not that you'd ever do that). So what the hell, lets throw the latest upgrades in the sidebar to the right over there!
